maybe-- pull out view port, there should be a adjustment on the side of it to focus in. something i learned about mine dcr-hc21 sony.seems to be alot of problems with sony and not alot of help from sony

check the sony website - there is a notice advising of a common fault with distorted pictures - I returned mine to be fixed free of charge

it is not broken but I recieved it without any leads or instructions so cannot download or what ones to get or where to find them
