how to mend a Black and Decker mouse sander?

whilst using my mouse sander around the beading on a glass panelled door, the tip of the sander touched the glass, the sander seemed to backfire and would not start again,I have checked the fuse visually ,no scorch marks .what can be the problem? can you help?

just had the same thing happen to me. One minute ok, the next it stopped working just after the edge collided with the door frame i was sanding.
Fuses ok. Nothing burnt out (at least no smell)
What next?
