astra wiper-fuse keeps blowing?

i have a M reg astra that every time i switch wipers on the 30amp fuse blows. have disconnected the wiper motor but fuse still blows anybody help

remove the steering column cowling & and check the wiring that runs from the switch across the steering column for damage
