the screen on my minolta dimage x20 is all fuzzy and black. help?

it was working fine, then i turned it on the other day and it's just fuzzy. you can't make out anything. it hasn't been dropped to my knowledge and i can't think of what could have happened, i'm lost. can you help?

Not an answer but I wish I had found this forum a fortnight ago as I have just thrown out my 7hi and replaced it with a Nikon (miles better but also more expensive). Not a happy person!!!!!

Mine had "black screen" like many others...after searching for US site, I found and entered a request for repair - looks like Sony now owns or has taken over for Minolta/Konica. The site claims to repair and ship for free. See http://eservice.sony.com and enter you camera info there.

Hey, guess what, me too!

All of a sudden the camera would produce no video. It'd display pictuires OK, but no image recording, just a bit of noise. My money is on the CCD.

I'd already resigned myself to shelling out on a new camera for 'er indoors, but then I just had a quick tootle and found this thread. Whee-oh, re-sult!
