The drain well will not empty. I have cleaned all filters and cleared any possible blockages. Could it be float switch or drain pump? I note that the salt reservoir is full of water. When I turn the power on it trips the RCD.

Hi Allan,this is a Smeg branded machine and the faults you describe could mean a few things.When you turn it on,does the fuse/rcd go stright away.If so,it could be the mains filter.This is a part that is at the rear where the mains wire goes to.You will see burn marks and it is usually cracked if faulty.
Drain faults are rare but the drain pump is at the front.Just remove the screw and pull the pump off,be careful of glass in it.
