How can I rev up my lawn mowers engine?

I simply want to accelerate the engine since there is no actual gas throttle. I've tried to mess with the cable but not sure what I'm doing. thanks for your help

Hi
I am not sure of your exact problem. You say there is no throttle but mention a cable.
I will try to cover one or two different angles to try and assist.
Some machines come with fixed throttles set at a the optimal setting for their operation.
Also some newer machines will rev lower than their older counterparts.
Engine revs are set for more than one reason. The main being that reving an engine over its recomended speed may/will cause damage. Also there are now limits on the noise level (decibels) given off by machinery meaning some manufacturers have backed down the top engine speed to get below these levels.
If you have got an cable adjusted throttle which simply just it not operating it would be best (if you dont have the knowledge) to get it checked by your local garden machinery repair centre or some machinery hire centres will help. Again if the engine over revs it may cause some costly damage.
