Hotpoint first edition wd51 1100 washer dryer earth fault on dryer only , trips breaker what shoud i be looking for , is there a common fault here .

heater element maybe going to earth check element for continuity check insulation on heater .
you may find part of the element wire broke and touching metal which is earthed through the casing .
