I have a Ford Focus Y reg with a Dolby 5000rds tape and changable cd player. Whilest driving it recently the cd player stopped playing and ERROR 5 showed on the screen. After taking it out and having the laser etc cleaned it will now show the selected cd but will not play it. Last week the tape decided to stop as well. Has anyone else experienced this? If so can it be fixed or where can I buy another one suitable to fill the gap?

Hi Jean, error code 5 is according to the Ford fault finding manual is "overcurrent error" and the fix is to replace the unit!! It might of been the CD changer taking too much current and this caused the fault? as for replacements both are always for sale on ebay £30 for the radio & £50 for the CD changer
