i have now fixed the problem i took the interchanger a part and it was trying to put two cd into one space.remove the jammed cd and eject the cassette,load cds into the right holes and reload into interchanger,turn on radio.

I have the very same problem with my cd changer in a Focus. (error 5). It was suggested by a gentleman called Nigel that it was "overcurrenting" and the unit should be replaced. My husband thinks that there ought to be a fuse somewhere to prevent this happening. Tomorrow we investigate further.
