Philips Sonicare - Bad Battery (will not hold a charge)?

My Philips Sonicare will no longer hold a charge... it worked great for several years and is now out of warranty. Where do I go to have the battery replaced? (Philips was NO help at all!)

I found a guy on eBay who fixed my classic 4700 handle in a week for $25 plus first-class postage. I had three brush-heads that would not fit the new handles, so I took a chance and I am glad I did. Quadpacer works like new; appearance is not factory new but not bad at all.

Look for "Sonic Repair". I even recycled my older first-generation handle with him for spare parts, and he paid me more than the cost of the postage! Great e-business person! Highly recommended!

If it's the old 9500 series, have u tried resetting it by placing it in the charger base, hold the button for 5 - 7 seconds, get 2 buzzes. Repeat, & get 1 buzz. Then let it charge for at least 15 hours?

You can change the batteries in a sonicare, but it requires cutting through the thick plastic casing. Then you need to unsolder a few connections, dissolve some glue that hold the batteries in, and finally put everything back together. I did this once and it really isn't worth it.

*If your sonicare batteries do die remember they are nicd and need to be recycled, not disposed of.

Yes I had exactly the same problem, with philips and braun too, it happened twice, and like you, I could get no useful help as well, so, in frustration, I bought a new one, keeping the receipt, waited a couple of weeks and returned the broken one as faulty and got a refund. Shouldn't have to be like this, but no other useful option. Not that I'm suggesting of course....... :)))..would I?......
