if it a vhs or normal tape everyday tape should do to, join it not to thick or creased or it will catch. the tape will never play again at that part but will move on so you can play the rest. If its the case that broke if it has screws just find a tape case that isnt broke open broken one lift out carefully and just swap one case for the other.
