How can I fix my Volvo V40 alarm?

Since the alarm went off in the middle of the night a week or so ago, now when I lock my 1997 R reg V40 estate with the key fob, the all four indicator lights just keep flashing. Anybody got any ideas?

hi adrian,
sounds like the system can not reset usually caused by a faulty door switch ceck all doors bonnet and bootlid switches are making a good contact.
