freezer compartment gas leak, any danger, any soloution?

While amateurishly, and stupidly, trying to chip a build up of ice of the inside of the freezer compartment of my fridge, I accidentally punctured the fridge which led to an out flow of gas. I assume that the freezer itself is now broken but is it possible to continue using the fridge part? Is there any danger? Or should I just buy another as asoon as possible?
Thanks in advance

how much it cost me if i refilled the gas into mine size fridge?

My freazer is leaking R134a!

It froze over, the door wouldn't close anymore! Whilst bashing the hard ice out at the top of the freezer and heard a loud hissing. I had made a small hole in the top of the freezer.

What should I do, is this leak dangerous, can it be fixed or even still used?

I have unplugged the fridge and open the windows.

The gas keeps both fridge & freezer cold. When the gas is gone then neither will chill. If you continue to run the compressor motor with no gas in the system you may damage it. The hole in the pipe may be repairable and then the gas can be refilled. Depends on the overall age & condition of the appliance as to repair or buy another. Only you can decide.
