Why are my dimplex storage heaters not releasing heat during the day?

Hi, my dimplex storage heaters have two wall switches - one to use as a stand-alone heater and the other for storage heating. When i use it as a stand-alone it works and releases heat. However, when I use it as a storage heater, it is not releasing heat during the day. My electrician could not find anything wrong and was not sure why it was not working. Do you have any ideas?

Some of the older heaters have a thermal cut out in them (usually triggered by someone putting clothes on them to dry - the vents must be kept clear), newer ones have automatic resetting cutouts. ensure power is off, take off cover and just below the controls there may be a circular disc (about the size of 2 pence piece) with a white button / peg in centre, press and if you hear it click you have reset the thermal cut out

Your storage heater only works at night to benefit from cheap off-peak electricity

Hi, I called Dimplex (0845 600 5111) who gave me contact details of my local storage heater specialists.
Anyway, i called them out and they resolved the problem in under an hour. Basically the thermostats needed replacing (apparently this needs to be done every 5 or so years).
Heaters working fine now and only cost me £50 per hour call out + £28 each for the thermostats.
