I have a Sears Free Spirt Club Treadmill that is giving a L5 Error. (turns on but the walking belt does not move)

Any pointers on how to fix this?
Thanks

Can you advise how to do put the magnet back. Where is it located, etc ??? Thank you

Tried adjusting the tachometer but that didn't seem to work. Turns out there was a magnet that had come out of the wheel that the tachometer tracks. Once that was put back, back in business.

Thanks to Nick with the link to the photo... I have a Horizon CT5.2 with an E1 message. Belt lubed and fine, electronics light up but not running.... Nick's trick did it. (Fingers crossed!). For my model, the sensor is attached by an L bracket with 2 phillip's screws... I jiggled them back a bit, tried it. Nothing. Forced the belt with my foot in frustration and voila! Put it through the paces, on and off etc, seems solved. Thank you Nick!

1-check inpot voltage & use regolator trans>=3kw
2-check belt and this silicon oil. if your belt is hot after 30min running, you must replace it.

My tachometer had to be set 1/8" from the magnet. Works fine now, but I did order a new one because alot of problems with this one. Only $4.99 from Sears.

Try opening up the bottom enclosure where the motor is and moving the tachometer located by the freewheel back or forth. I moved mine a few cm back and it started working. Follow this link, it explains it a little better. Hope it helps! http://www.angelfire.com/nm/nickm/freespiritl5.html

I have a bowflex series 7 with the same problem. Turns on, incline & speeds work but the belt will not move. Then an L5 error code comes up. Seems lots of people (with all different brands) have this. Anyone have an answer?
