One of the heating plates has come loose from it base. Does anyone know whether super glue would be sufficient to fix this as I know the plate gets very hot?

You need a high temperature glue. There are adhesives designed to glue the glass windows into ovens - this should be ideal. ovendoorglue.co.uk make a cheap kit for the task. Can withstand the heat and very strong - holds the weight of glass oven doors!

Hi this happened with my GHDs about a year ago and i went to B&Q and got the highest heat resistent glue available, glued tham back on and yes it worked. One of the plates is now loosening again so i will prob just do the same again :)
Also... if ever your GHDS stop working, go on ebay, buy a £5.99 new wire and pluug and you can watch videos on youtube for how to easily replace your wwire. I did this also, and my GHDs are back to working normally!!

Dont think super glue will hold once it heats up but you could try.
