We just installed a new microwave hood (Maytag) and it doesn't draw the steam very well. It was installed exactly like the directions said. We have gone over and over the directions and can't figure it out. The steam is collecting on my new cabinets and I am afraid it is going to ruin them.

have you got the hood to vent to out side of building,or does it reciculate throu the hood filter and back into room,if its back into room you will get moisture everywhere as the filter only removes air bourne particulates and smells etc,but not hot moise air. if its vented to outside you will not have these problems,unless the hood has a switch which is set to reciculate
