landline phone does not ring when i get a call, but i can stii answer call

Thsi ia very difficeily to answer becaiuseyou sau NOTHING except tht fault, However here are some guesses

Ringer switched off - switch it on. An old phone connected in a house with Broadband but not though a filter fit a filter. Ringer gone bad - replace phone.
