How can I dissolve crystalised sea salt from the zip of a waterproof bag? This is a 'wet sack' which has been used on board boat and come into contact with sea water which has dried and jammed the zip.

Don't pour boiling water on it.

Leave bag submerged in luke warm water overnight. Next day put in washing machine on COLD rinse cycle. Do not spin and don't use detergents. Fresh water only.
