web strapping load fasteners?

maintaining and how to use
Duff, November 2008
Not a lot you can say about this - its fairly straightforward.
The webbing straps should be stored rolled up and not be allowed to get knotted or frayed. You should have a locker on the side of the chassis or under the body to store all of these things - "Keep the dirt out of the Cab!".
The straps have ratchets on them for tightening them. There are hooks at each end which either hook onto steel hooks welded onto the underside of the bodywork (e.g. flatbed) or else hook over the steel channel section which usually forms the edge of a flatbed.
They all have load ratings and they are not as appropriate for securing heavy plant or machinery - chain load restrainers would be better for that.
