baxi solo wm40/4rs?

i can't have just the heating on unless the water is on aswell ? i have a potterson control model ep3002

has it always worked this way or just started ? depends on how the system is wired , if u have a cylinder stat on the hw it wont matter as this will cut out the hot water demand anyway [even tho it is on at the clock ]
