peugeot 406 coupe key fob wont work ?

I have a peugeot 406 coupe 3ltr and I have just changed the battery in the key fob but now it just wont work - not even the red light comes on it when I press it. Peugeot want £45 just to have a look which I cant afford. Any suggestion?

You need to reprogram it to make it work. you can buy instructions on ebay for around £3. Alternatively, just google it. Try this link:

did the red light work on the fob before changing the battery ? if so the battery may be in upside down, or the wrong type please check
