hand brake cable?

how do i change the hand brake cable in a desal vauxhall cavalier
debbie, November 2008
get under it. bout half way between the front and back wheels, in roughly the centre of the car is an "s" shaped peice of metal cumin from the hand brake area. u should link the most obvious peice and add link it too next most obvious piece.( this should be obvious, trust me.) you now have a long cable with a leg cumin off it. sorta y shaped . the long side goes to the drivers side and the off branch to the passenger. if u hvent ripped out the old cable follow the cable, watch the exhaust, u should be heading to each wheel. ur gaunna have to open the drum. beat it with a hammer and turn the screw. brute force with sublety.if u dont have the old cab;e parts in place its not easy to explain. after conectin tighten by turnin small wheel in center of drum wi screwdriver and hammer. hitting towards drum. go into car and pull brake on. and adjust accordingly.
