Anyone out there have any advice for us ?? We purchased this used on Craigs list. Got it home and well the rest is a nightmere. We have a munual but we cannot program it. Any advice other than don't buy used cash registers.

You are looking at it all wrong :-)
Second hand is great because someone else has done most of the programming for you. All you have to do is adjust it for your business.

Firstly, I need you to tell me what needs to be changed to suit your store. Are you able to use it at all currently?
