How do you repair a refrigerator so the thing runs for more than 10 seconds?

How do I fix the motor so it stays on long enough to keep things cold or frozen in the freezer. We set it on the highest setting.

I have similar problem - does it have automatic defrost? Poss defrost timer or thermostat. When I find my answer to similar problem I may be able to answer yours.
