Hi,
I have a ford escort 1.4 hatchback, year of reg 2000. Recently the heater has stopped functioning properly.it still blows air, but its not hot even when the engine has reached working temp. It's not completely cold but it does not respond to the temperature control.

I had this problem on my escort 55td van. it turned out to be the heater matrix (whatever that is!) the mechanic said he had to use a steam cleaner on the inlet & outlet pipes to clear a build up of debris. it now works fabulously. he charged me just £35 well worth it i'd say!. good luck.
