should the boiler run for 40 seconds then switch off then run again then do this all the time while it is running changed thermo coupler the water was not getting hot niether were the rads so we had this done but only noticed it running intermitantly after work done still only warm water and set on high any advice much appreciated
i had the same problem last year the header tank in the loft that feeds the system had no water in it and i used to hear banging noises so check the tank

Check the header tank in the loft has water in it.The boiler may be cutting off because the indirect part in the cylinder is dry.
