how do I connect the wires in my phone socket?

I have 3 phone points in my house, but only one is wired up. There are 4 wires for each phone, 1 blue, 1 blue and white, 1 orange and 1 orange and white. There are numbered connections from 1-6. The only one connected is to numbers 2 and 5. which wires go where for connecting them?

Adran (below) is right. To be pedantic, the "line" wires (ie to terminals 2 and 5) should be a "twisted pair". That is, use either the blue and blue/white or orange and orange/white on these terminals. This reduces interference, and cross-talk, etc.

To run extension sockets from the master box connect to terminals 2 5 and 3 the colour does not matter the extra wire to terminal 3 is to ensure the extensions ring it is not needed in the main box as the capacitor generates the ring.
