Nokia 6300 water damage question?

Hi. I finally joined the millions of people who put their mobile through the washing machine. After a week of drying out my Nokia 6300 seems to be working apart from the camera, which gives me a blank screen and then an "operation failed" error message.
Q1. Can the camera be repaired, and any idea how much this will cost?
Q2. Everyone I have spoken to in the mobile business seems to think that although the phone is working now it wont in 2-3 months time. Is this true (and if so, why?) or are they telling me this so I'll buy a new phone?

hello. first of all..... u give me hope..... mine fell in clean water today for just about 3 seconds or so, and by the 10th second or so.... i pulled the battery off it to avoid shorting..... if yours still works after being through a washing machine cycle for a few minutes in dirty and soapy water, i can expect mine to start :)

umm..... maybe they say it will soon stop working because they really DO want u to buy a new phone..... but they probably say it coz they believe the water must have damaged some parts like transistors or capacitors in the IC....... also.... they may believe that it still has some moisture deep within and that will finally kill your phone!
If you have heard the same statement from many ppl, i suggest u trade it off with someone before it does stop working.....
As for me, i believe it might just work for longer! Good luck!
