Flourescent light goes off after a while ?

I have just installed a new bathroom ceiling light, the old one was a standard fitting with a 100w bulb, the new light contains two flourescent T5 tubes at 22 and 40 watt. The light switches on fine but after app. 5-10 minutes goes off without operating the pull cord. Once off it does not immidiately go on again. New light model is FLOS Button (large).

Just for clarification. Light switch? in this case - is this the pull cord? Although, the previous fitting and bulb was working fine.

Replace the light switch. The switch contacts are heating up because they are burnt and pitted. After a while they get hot enough to cause the contacts to separate.
This is a 'MUST DO' job. Also check the wiring within the switch for heat damaged insulation.
