How can I remove the yellow knob for brush control on Dyson DC04 ?

How can I remove the yellow knob for brush control on Dyson DC04 so that I can remove the clutch mechanism- I have tried prising it off but dont want to risk excessive force. I presume the clutch just lifts out of its housing then?
