speed seems slow?

can i adjust the speed of my sansui d1000w?

I don't know your deck but try to find on board the adjusting resistor and wind it ,while playing a tape, with a screwdriver to left or to right.It worked on my old players.For accuracy use a tape you are familiar with so it will not play faster or slower than it must be.Those adjusting resistors were fun stuff,i adjusted colors on my old tv by them.

Don't know where the speed control would be as some have a screw directly on the motor and others have a d.c speed control circuit and variable speed using a pot on this circuit.
To adjust you would normally use an oscilloscope connected to the audio output and playback a cassette tape with 1khz recorded sine wave and adjust the speed until the output frequency is 1khz.
It may however just be slipping belts or a worn pinch roller.
