My flicker and hazzard lights are not working, what to do?

Hi,

Both my flickers and my hazzards do not work. When I turn the lever to whichever side the dashboard lights indicating that the flicker lights are on don't come on either.

I've checked the fuses and they seem to be alright. I thought this may be the relay switch but cannot find the relay box.

I have a Passat 2.3 VR5 2000 model.

My question is, where is the relay switch box and how do I fix this problem with the flickers?

Thanks,
Stelio

I had this with my '98 passat. The indicators and hazzards became intermittant and occasionally wouldn't work.

The hazzard warning switch in the dash controls the indicators and hazzards. All you need to do is replace the unit (costs about £16 from a main dealer and you can replace easily yourself)

To replace; remove the blanks above and below the Hazzard switch in the dash and (gently but firmly) prise out the hazzard switch.

The new unit will just push in place

Hope this helps :-)
