I have a vauxhall vivaro but the cd/radio only displays the word safe?

I have the radio code but cannot figure out how to input it. Its a CDR 2005 siemans VDO if that helps?

Turn radio off. Ignition on. Press and hold the AS button. Then turn radio on. This should take it out of safe mode. Then you can put your code in.
