Every time i put in my ps2 disk(nothing wrong with any of my ps2 cd's) i mangage to play for a minute then it freezes and says 'error reading disk' . so i restart the whole console, but the problem still persists, even when i tri other cd's. Does anyone know whats wrong with it? If so could you please , please help me, because i cant live without mi playstation. I assume its something to do with the lens. ?????

Or you could buy a lense cleaning cd/dvd and save yourself the hassle of striping the whole console down

Here we go ...ready? you'll need a small tip screwdriver .. flip over the ps2 and remove the rubber pads (square) down @ the bottom of holes will be the screws. Don't forget the ones on the lower section also (9 all together) NOW BE VERY CAREFULL when you seperate the two halves they are going to be attached and you'll need to be carefull not to pull anything out. Now when the two halves are set you'll see the black plastic box that the CD tray goes in. Take the screws out of that and lift the cover off. again be carefull not to pull anything out. Now you are where you need to be... you should see a small glass eye that slides on two rails. with a Qtip using rubbing alcohol lightly clean the eye. Dry it with a dry Qtip and make sure you get everything. Repeat the steps in reverse to put it back together.That will fix the (Read Error ) message. Good Luck and happy playing
