How can I remove the cistern lid of a dual flush cistern?

Water continues to flow down the pan from the cistern and I need to access the cistern to investigate the problem. The cistern lid is fixed in place by the flushing mechanism and cannot be lifted off

mine is removed by slipping a piece of card down the side of one of the flush buttons,this dislodges a locateing leg and you can gently lift it out then.the other button lifts out easily and reveals a screw which you remove and your in
