Hi,

Recently my car has been making a strange sound from the engine but only when the car is idle, ie stopped in traffic or at the lights but as soon as you press on the gas the sound disappears.

I think its coming from the timing belt section of the engine but im unsure. Timing belt has been changed only 20K miles ago incase you are wondering.

anyone experience or had the same problem?

Just incase anyone else has the same problem, ive managed to pin point the problem...its the power steering pump.

I took off the belt attached to it and once i started the car the noise has gone..re-attached it to find the noise reappear.

Looking to replace the pump with another. hope this help others...
