AEG Oven hinge?

I have an AEG Competence eye level single oven. The hinge does'nt close tightly and I have to use a Bulldog clip to keep it closed. My local Spanish engineer tells me that it is a "design fault". I can't believe that there is not a solution to this. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

the solution is to replace the hinges as the springs fail causing weak tension on the oven door.it is a common problem on many cookers
