How do I fix a door-closer to a upvc door?

Is their a way to fit a door-closer to a uPVC door? Some way of fixing the (usually) screw on brackets to the (hollow) uPVC door? Please advise.

you can still screw it on i have a upvc installer fixing one to our new door we have just had fitted. literally he is screwing it on as i am typing this reply!
