My hoover HNL6166 wont empty and the start buttom and time delay button are flashing simultaneously three times, have I pressed something in error?

This is a common problem. Water has dripped on to the pump and damaged the electronic module in the top of the machine. Answer - cover your pump with a plastic bag and send the module to us for same-day repair. Please include your name/address and a daytime contact number so we canm call you for credit card details.
