ER-A420 FACTORY RESET?

Hi, I have been given a Sharp ER-A420 second hand. The previous owner had messed it up so badly that she was using it purely by opening it manually and just putting money in and giving change. No trantsactions were being recorded.
I would like to know, if possible, how to reset the register as if I were the first person using it.
I have a manual and I hope I can take it from there.

Hi Ziggy. It is likely that she has just mucked up some user programming. Fully resetting will lose all sorts of system programming as well and that aint good. Best if we just work out what is wrong and try some quick fixes first. There is usually not that much to change when a new owner takes over.
