how to stop a beeping and warning sign on dashboard?

I have a peugeot 206 and the left door open sign keeps showing on the dashboard along with a beeping. Cannot work out what the problem may be as the door is shut and the elcetricals seem to be ok.

Any ideas/solutions greatfully recieved.
