my lexmark 5470 multiprinter can't comunication with computer with usb cable connected it doesn't see it when it is pluged into the computer i get the message something new has been plugged in but get nothing from the printer and I have tried 2 other cables same thing its like its unplugged

Peripheral devices on a computer need Device Driver software to work properly - you can find the device driver for your printer on the manufacturer's web site - select the one that matches your printer and your operating system.

When you've installed the device driver then connect up the printer - The device driver often comes with a new printer on a CD.
