I tried disconnecting the battery but it still says wait. None of the radio's controls works. I have the radio code but don't know how to enter it.

you have probably entered an incorrect code 3 times. the radio has now locked out. you need to leave radio on for up to an hour without pressing any buttons. if code is further entered incorrectly it will be permanently locked out and the stereo will need to be taken to car hi-fi place to unlock it.
