My 2001 Grand Am car cd player when reading my cd's , homemade or store bought, says "CHECK CD" and will not play them. Then I have a very difficult time making the cd's eject.
What do I need to do?

Due to difficulty removing car c.d players it may be an idea to use a cleaning disk as it sounds like it is not reading properly due to the laser assembly.
I would use a dvd cleaning disk (the brushes are usually better) instead of c.d type with a little isopropynol applied to the brushes but only allow to spin for a short time as it will not recognise the disk and spin like the devil.
Disks that are proving difficult to read may result in dalays ejecting.
