I think the power switch on my camcorder is faulty. When switched off a light flashes, draining the battery. I cannot charge the battery. When I press the record button beside the power switch, it changes the mode to play/edit. I need to use the record button on the lcd. Finally, I get a message saying the lens cover is not open - it is!! Sony want 176.00 to repair, it would be cheaper to buy a new one!!

Any ideas?
