I just got a used treadmill. The incline doesn't seem to work?

I just got a used "Vita master" Bio master treadmill.It says "gas incline" motor.I don't know where to start.Any ideas about what I can do to try to get it to work?Very specific ideas would help, as I am not really mechanically wise or tredmill savvy.Thanks a BUNCH!!
