How can I fix the spring loaded boot latch plastic cover on my Zafira 08 tailgate. It appears that it should spring back up when the boot is opened to stop dirt getting into the latch, but mine has stopped working

I just fixed ours. You need to take the bit of plastic trim off that covers the boot latch. Unclip both clips right at the back of the carpet, lift the carpet up, unscrew the metal cover and that should give you access to two screws that hold the plastic trim in place. Once you have removed them, the trim should release with a bit of force (it is spring-clipped down. Then you can fiddle with the plastic cover to make it spring back into position, then replace the trim etc.
