i have a 1997 iveco 120E18, how do i disconnect limiter?

basically i have had a 12 ton horsebox downrated legally to a non hgv, i have been told by vosa that i can legally remove the restrictor unit, and have been told by various people what to look for but still have not been able to sort out this problem, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Your truck should be limited to 60mph, you might find it wont go much faster than 65mph, if its an old limiter it should have a bar that is connected to the accelerator linkage, if it is like that then you need to disconect it from the bar which slides in and out from a box with wires going into it, get a jubilee clip and put it around the bar which will hold it in place then it wont work and you have no limiter, if its not like this it maybe on the ecu then you may need to take it to iveco to get it done.
