Damaged electrics in Ikea light fitting- how to fix?

I purchased a light fitting from Ikea and attempted to fit it earlier today. However, I have made a mess of it and need advice to fix the problem. The part where the wires connect from our house's mains i.e. the live, neutral and earth wires, does not have the small screws that I'd expected that you feed the wires into- instead, it appears that the parts where the wires go 'traps' the wires (just live and neutral as there was nowhere for the earth to go, though I understand this is OK so I sealed it woth electrical tape). I was unable to release the wires once I had pushed them into the holes, so I tried turning back on the electrical supply to see if the wires had somehow connected- unfortunately, they hadn't. I ended up cutting the wires, so now need a more conventional unit to connect the blue and brown wires from the light fitting to the red and black wires from our house's mains- please does anyone know what this component is called and where I would buy one? Many Thanks

Pleas take this kindly but it is obvious from your question that you do not have a clue. I suggest the you get an electrician before you have fire - or worse!

Do you mean terminal block?
Ikea light fittings shouldn't be that difficult to fit; perhaps you should consider seeking some assistance.
